Vinty, that is just wonderful Posted Image

My favourite :

In Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
Canadian Army
In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

I haven't got the word power to express the sentiment felt, so thanks Vinty, Clancy for sharing the post.

Thanks Vinty and Clancy,i will be going to the parade in St.Helens on poppy day with my wife like we do every year,i will be buying my little wooden crosses tomorrow to put in front of the cenotaph with all the other people,my two uncles who where killed in ww1 are the last two names that where put on the Cenotaph because St.Helens Council said that they where not born in Haydock, they where born in Ireland but i got the proof that they where born in Haydock so there names where put on about four years back.
