Me and my wife and friends went to Liverpool on Saturday night for a few drinks and a meal,we got on the train a Earlstown and when we got off at Liverpool no one had checked our tickets, when we caught the train coming back to St.Helens 9-40pm nobody was there again to check our tickets again and St.Helens station ticket office was in darkness,i was talking to some people about it and they said to me that they only buy a single fare going there because there is nobody there to check tickets coming home, this must be costing them millions of pounds if this is going on all over the country.

Damn ridiculous isn't it. I can understand Earlestown and St.Helens being unmanned at that time of the evening, but not checking at Liverpool Lime Street is beyond belief! You used to be able to buy a ticket from the guard on the trains in the evenings - that would make far more sense!

We went to Old Trafford to watch the Rugby, got on at Lea Green, without a ticket, off at Eccles, bought a ticket for the Metro Eccles to Salford Quays return then came back from Eccles free again, the train was chockablock so they must of lost a fortune. you can still buy tickets on the train Ollie, but not on the later ones I expect.
