I have read in the trade press that JDW are to open a pub in Prescot. Does anyone know where it will be. JD's normally convert an existing pub, but, driving through the town, I can't see any sign of a conversion.Posted Image

Thanks for that. As I have been away from God's Town for a while, was KS in the new centre?

Wonder what they'll call it - it's usually a name that commemorates something to do with the history of a town or the name of a person who's benefitted the town in some way.

Ollie, maybe they should have a public contest. My suggestion based on his meticulous research and work for the Prescot Fallen " Nulty's" Posted Image

The Nulty's have spent enough money in Prescot pubs over the years, Les !!

Remember back in 1981, when "The Lancashire Fusilier" was opened? Lots of images on the walls of the LF, including all their Gallipoli VC winners, etc.

But they then "did it up" a few years later, lost all the imagery and theme, and just called it "The Fusilier".

Actually, problem solved - it's "the Watch Maker"

O.K. Ste, spent a bob or two meself in the Sun, when Jack & Ann Phythian ran it. Not many any decent pubs in Skem. The Watchmaker makes sense -but only to Prescotians. I can see a contributor's meet up on the horizon. Posted Image

Actually, that reminds me - there's a "Watchmaker" pub on Lickers Lane estate in Whiston. I recall that I couldn't figure out why they gave it that name when it was opened (early 80's, I think).

That building opposite that is in the middle of the Y junction towards Warrington Road was the old watch factory and warehouse so that must be the reasoning behind it. Youd think theyd have used that wouldnt you
