The Family History Workshop

We will have access to

Ancestry.co.uk, Find my Past (1911), Cencus surname index for all of St Helens 1841 1851 1861 1871 1891 1901

St Helens Area Marriage index 72,000+ marriages and covers 27 churches

Parish Church, St Marks Windle, St Annes RC Sutton, St Nicholas Sutton, All Saints Sutton, St Joseph's RC Peasley Cross,

Peasley Cross Congregational, St Vincents RC Church, St Mary's Billinge, Christ Church Burials and some M.I.

Windleshaw Chantry burials, St Peters Parr MI's, St Austin's Thatto Heath, Sacred Heart (not transcribed) Holy Cross (Not transcribed), Trade Directories of St Helens,and all the burial records

Plus expert advice from the St Helens Family History

This is a one off but the group do hold workshops every Monday from 17.00hrs to 20.00 hrs at the library

The next stone will be put on to Section 18 on Friday or Monday That leave only two more Section 5 and 45 they will be done in the next few weeks.That will be 60,000 burials on 11 section have now have a stone to mark there last resting place Some of which where laid to rest over a 170 years a go it has taken a long time but it is now done. THANK YOU TO ALL THOSE THAT HAVE DONATED THE STONE AND THE VOLUNTEERS

Hi All the Events for 2012 i am still waiting for the dates to be confirmed and will put them on this topic as soon as i get them The Family history is in Feb so you have not missed it. Sacred Heart records i think are with the Family History. there will be 10 events this year. The Miners Event is in March and will be about the life and times of the Miners, The 1878 Wood Pit Explostion Miners who got the V.C., Children down the mines, plus much more

They may have a transcript but most of Sacred Heart records got sent to Preston Record Office not long ago all except a sketchy couple of years which are down in the basement archives at the Gamble

May be i should have said Sacred Heart has not been translated from latin to english as all R.C. records they are in latin but they do have the full records

Scetion in order of photos No 1 is Section 17, No 2 is section 18, No 3 is section 19, No 4 is section 45, No 5 is Section 20, No6 is Section 21, No7 is secion 22. and last but not leased No 8 is Section 34

Ive know got the dates for the next two events Family History workshop is on the 26/Feb from 10.00 till 15.00hrs whats on see post above plus I will be there with the worlds biggest collection of data on the Anders Family From 1658 to 1950 and Look up for the paupers graves
The Mines Event will be on the 1st of Apr from 10.30 till 15.30hrs The life and times of mining plus the Woodpit Explotion Story

Hi Edd No Stone as been put (Paupers) on section 15 yet thats the one with 12,252 Children buried There is some private stones on there
