the sooner the better, me and the wife took the grandkids to scotchbarn baths and we were told that because we didn't live in knowsley we couldn't use the facilities, we live exactly 1 mile from the baths but are barred whilst someone from halewood or page moss over 5 miles away can use them.

Look on the bright side - there'll soon be more places to park your car !

Sorry, that's a poor joke but it's the best I can think of in this sorry situation.

Thinking of Prescot, my Dad was in the motor trade and I was thinking of some of the people he used to do business with in Prescot, Benny Whitehouse, think he had a chippy and a garage, Jim Collie, Jim Whitred, Tommy Howard, someone in Sewell St,? I also remember a lad who used to come for his car repaired, he always had an american car, he only had one arm and used to live in the last house on Warrington Rd before the park across the road from The Dragon, Then there was Van Skykes garage on Warrington Rd, he also used to do some work for J Garth, memory's going now.

I have a vague memory that the last house on Warrington Road used to be a shoe shop. The Google Maps image shows a sort of extension to the house and I think it once had a huge plate glass window........
