I will be in WH Smith in St Helens from 11 onwards on Saturday 18th June, signing copies of my latest novel "One Autumn" and hoping that some of my old friends either from Prescot Grammar (1951 to 1957) or BICC (1957 to 1965) might turn up.
For younger members BICC used to be the biggest employer in Prescot. The initials stood for British Insulated Callenders Cables but the place was often described as the Biggest Individual Collection of Comedians! That was in the days when over 17,000 people worked there.
