My series is inspired by the old saying about work "They could write a book about this place. It would be a best seller" and is set in the fictional town of Ashurst which is "near" to Sutton, Derbyshire Hill, Haydock, Earlestown, Burtonwood and Collins Green but heavily based on St Helens covering the period from the winter of 1962 to 1993. .
The main character is a young draughtsman Alan Greenall who works in the town's biggest factory Wilkinson's (also known as Butlins since it is often more like a holiday camp). It has material drawn from true stories suitably turned into fiction from BICC at Prescot and Leigh where I once worked and also Pilkingtons, UGB, Triplex, TT Vicars, St Helens Town Hall and Peasley Cross Hospital where relatives and old mates once worked and also Knowsley Road school for obvious reasons.
See more and a few reviews from people who are not my relatives on my web site www.geofflee.net.

I now have all four of them. I thought One Winter was very good indeed and now I am reading One Spring (which is signed by you) and I haven't
stopped laughing. Your books are hilarious and by far the the funniest I have read
I am not too well right now and am limited in what I can do...so from this St.Helens girl 'down under', thank you for making my days so very
entertaining
And yes ! I do recognise just about everywhere, many thanks for the wonderful memories and the humour, which I miss so much.
