I get it quite often and have tried it various ways. With a redcurrent/wine sauce it's delicious.I got a recipe from the chef at the Dragon and Pheonix that uses ginger and spring onion and that really blows your tastebuds.I think they have it on the menu there for special occassions.

On the North-East side of Carr Mill Dam - there's an area marked 'Deer Park'. No idea how far back the name goes though.

Thats correct Ollie. Its marked on all maps from 1850 to 1956, but in 1965 the OS map the name has sisapeared. The area is as stated by Ollie, between Sandy bay and the railway.

Does anyone know the reason it was called "Deer Park"?

I saw two fairly large deer about 4 weeks ago, in the fields at the side of Gorsey Lane.
