It’s going to be the match for Bradford.”
“He’s given a penalty.”
“Oh he has!”
“He called held there. They’re still not out of it. Oh, they’ve taken the short one, they know that they’ve only got ten seconds. Will they get this play the ball in? They’re holding him down…”
“Sculthorpe wants to get on with it, Bradford counting down.”
“Kick and chase now.”
“This is the last play. Long… kicks it wide to Iro… Iro to Hall. Hall is trapped, back it goes to Hoppe, over the shoulder to Hall. There is Jonkers. Here is Long… and Long fancies it, Long fancies it. It’s wide to West. It’s wide to West. Dwayne West inside to Joynt. Joynt, Joynt, Jooooynnt. Aaaagh, aaagh, FANTASTIC. They’ve won it. They’ve won it. They’ve won it. Chris Joynt, Chris Joynt has won it. It is unbelievable here. It is frankly unbelievable. Chris Joynt has won the match for St Helens. What a final passage of play. Saint Bernard’s on now. What a run! What a try! What a match! What drama!”

There have been countless last gasp winning tries in matches over the years. Not least the one at the piedome on Good Friday.
But few will ever be prompt the dramatic commentary - as republished by Alan
IMO the only other finish to a match that could come close to it was the Don Fox missed goalkick at the end of the 1968 Wembley "watersplash"final.

I can still hear the crowd cheering as the ball was kept alive then we looked up to see the Bradford coach (I'm useless with names these days) slip down out of sight
Amazing.
