Unless the RL make referees enforce the rules the game is destined to die.
I mean Die. And die it will. The whole world are seeing forawrd pass after forward pass gp unpunished.
Look at Leeds last night. Two forward passes and a try given.
Look at the ludicrous situations at the the scrum.
The rules dictate the ball must be delivered in the tunnel between the front row.
IT NEVER EVER EVER EVER HAPPENS.
THE REFS KNOW THE RULES they ignore them.
The situation cannot carry on.

And, as to dying because of forward passes - dream on. RU has been doing forward passes for the fifty-odd years that I've been conscious of rugby and it doesn't seem to have done them any harm at all.

Another trick of his I really do not like is the way when he comes out of a tackle to play the ball he butts with his head again you would have to be blind not to see it, although the officials don;t for some reason.
The forward pass blatent, yet not one of the three officials saw that either. What do they have to do go up and tap them on the shoulders, and say going throw a forward now. Do you think they would then take notice.
Having said all that the game was excellent. Saints played really well, it was a shame that it was marred by those incidents. I also think the ref had a brilliant game, he let the game flow, which made for quick play of the balls and good attacking rugby.

Losing him and Wello had us in disarray although Robes stepped up well.
Not playing TP and Jammer early on in the second half probably led to the Goons tries.
Oh and Steve Hampson running straight across Jamie Foster's line of vision whilst he was attempting the last conversion was gamesmanship of the lowest order. Tosser.
Magennis played well as did Tom Makinson.
The futures as bright as Jamie Fosters orange boots!
Remember we have Pryce, Gaskell, Perry, Flannery, Eastmond (yeah I know) Clough and god knows how many else out injured.
And I've heard a whisper that a certain player may well be disciplined for off-field activities.
COYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The ball shall be put into the scrum from the
the Referee’s side by holding it in a horizontal
position with a point in each hand and rolling it
along the ground into the tunnel formed by the
opposing front row forwards.
You can find the Laws here:
http://www.therfl.co...book_2007_%20(2).pdf
Where it will also inform you that a forward pass results in a penalty not a scrum. Its only a scrum if the forward pass is unintentional.

That's why the notes for refs have 'rules of thumb' like forward passes are generally deemed not deliberate in the UK (Aussie refs, I think I'm right in saying, deem them deliberate and are more prone to award penalties). Offside, on the other hand, is nearly always deemed deliberate and gets a penalty rather than a scrum.
