For the benefit of those of us who don't get to the old town very often - is anyone in a position to report on any progress on the new stadium site - always assuming there's been any ?

it's been cleared and a bit of excavating done.A new roundabout for access has been completed on the linkway. Not sure if footings have gone in.

Thanks for that, Gilly. So nothing to see above ground yet.

When things start to happen, maybe someone with a camera could give us occasional progress reports.

Actually when you click on Stadium Developments Updates on Redvee, it takes you to the first one,
but put the link on anyway for the main Redvee Site.

I actually work on the site, I used to do write ups for Redvee until all the fencing went up and I couldn't really see anything. If I get any snippets of information from Barr's or Langtree I'll post them in here to keep you updated
The new stadium website actually has a live webcam which will be good when the stadium starts to go up but is a bit boring at the moment

Thanks for all the responses guys. I'd totally forgotten about Red-Vee since we're out of season. One Connect-Hero PMed me early on about Red-Vee. Thanks again all.

For those who have not read the 100+ page thread on redvee, the pitch will be laid first then the building put up around it.This was apparently done at the Reebok when it was being built.

Well now that the snow has gone, my square foot of Knowsley Rd turf is finally set into our front lawn. It's the very piece of turf upon which Tom Van Vollenhoven scored his first Saints try on 25th October 1957

Nice one Alan, does anyone remember the Saints song to the tune of My Old Man. I do how many others do.

Is it only me that thinks it a poor bit of planning to demolish the old stadium before the new one is built and have the team playing away at widnes every home game?
Saints will not only lose a lot of gate money but will be lucky if those attending home games are sufficient to pay the cost of loaning Widnes stadium. They also impose a bigger risk on losing ermanently those fans who won't turn up at Widnes.
I might go to the odd game as I like the Widnes stadium but I certainly won't go to as many as I would normally at Knowsley Road.
