Anyone remember "Jacko the Monkey" it used to cling to poles and things. Always wanted one but at £1. 1.0 way out of our price range in the 60's

Every Woolies had them hanging from the ceilings - all different sizes as well!

This website mentions them - along with other toys. Apparently there was a female version of Jacko as well!

Hi Swimmer.just couldnt remember responding re stamp man.
I cant remember that man. However I did goto OLD MAN CASEY-(UPSTAIRS).They had a shop at top of Liverpool rd that was basically a hive of army surplus. It was next door to OLD COOP.
When you went upstairs he was sat down with a massive tea chest. If you didnt want to go through his specials then he used to dip into this tea chest and fill a bag.I think he used to get masses of stamps via BFPO BEF etc.I believe the CASEYS in Boundary rd are family.

Ollie, I would think the aston martin came out to coincide with 'Goldfinger' which was released in 1964. I maybe wrong because it was in a few films after that

Back to the Harts theme, is anyone else here old enough to remember when they sold parachute silk for women to use in making dresses etc? Do you remember the ceiling mounted parachute advertising that fact?

We didn't have one installed at Lingholme Road until 1970 - had to use the private bathrooms over at The Baths in Boundary Road till then. Three adults, three teenage girls and a typical 'dirty kid brother' - it cost us a small fortune!!!
