Oops Edit: forgot to quote from the guy that posted this on the Whippet Forum
"
I can't stop looking at it and it's heartbreaking, It just goes to prove that technical quality is nothing compared to 'a story' when it comes to photography.

It's a brilliant picture Steve... But hands up if you feel more for the dog than the person.
Be truthful now!!! :)

It's a great photo, feel sorry for them both, but can't help feeling, it's a bit
selfish of the man not to find the dog a good home, instead of keeping him as a
companion, but then the dog doesn't know any other owner, so he's probably happy. :dunno:

Yes Phyll, but look into the eyes of the dog, he quite clearly loves his master, and I have no doubt by the way he is holding him  that the man loves his dog. Maybe the only companion he has got

Is it me or has the lovely dog only got one front leg?

It is a very moving picture...and yet...the man is dressed decently. I know there are many homeless people who do dress decently, we saw plenty of them in San Francisco....but it makes you think

I would really like to know the story behind this 'photo...but it does pull at the heartstrings :(

I agree with you Clancy it would be good to have the story behind the picture even if to find out if they are both alright. Another way to put it jd. "But for the grace of God go I"

Lets hope that all is well and that the man had good clothes on because someone had given them to him and that he is receiving the help he so clearly needs.
