Had many a happy hour around there too.The private school next door(Tower College) put up a fight to stop the school ,however Mr Oxley(yes from Oxleys in St.Helens)who owned the school,could not fight the Beaurocrats.and the facility opened.
They used to make the girls walk through Rainhill village,past the ogling eyes of us lot outside the Victoria.I can even remember one girls name,she was very well educated ,her name was Felicity Anne Chisholme,she was from Brammall (mink coat no knickers).
Fascinate meself sometimes.
