I was talking to my mum In Scotland via skype and telling her about this new site and the good friend's i have made I was telling her about Alfie bird and all about Whiston area she's 89 on the 29/9/10 her short term memory is going but her long term memory is sharp, she remembers everything she said every bonfire night around 3pm her and nieghbors would arrive at her house and start cooking toffee apples, chesenur's and treacle toffee all this she said would be supplied by Dickie Clark he would come around with his van and say can you use these these are old stock!! at night when my dad & brother were ready to light the bonfire, dad would get everybody to bow their heads and thank god for Dickie Clark for supplying everything, and for all the ladies cooking and pray everyone had a good time as there is plenty of food to go around. mum said she would like to send her warm wishes to anyone that remembers her

Docker, At least she can remember the old days. I keep forgetting a lot about them, that's
why I like coming on here, makes my brain work overtime! :roflmao:
