Reading through your link it says that UGB did play a game away at Peasley Cross Lane in the 1930s so it confirms that there was a ground But Who did it belong to ?
I was certain that that I had watched rugby games at that site as a boy. UGB expanded and took over the land right up to Peasley Cross Lane just after the war I think, I can remember a Red Oxide works being somewhere in the vincinity of where the gates to the UGB site are now just before the Railway bridge.Maybe Someone can can confirm if rugby was actually played on the site of the new Stadium previously.
