I have just joined, so still working out how to interact with this site.

My GG grandmother, Sarah Ann Fraser was baptised at St Mary, St Helen's on 20 Apr 1845. She was the daughter of Robert and Ann Fraser (nee Hassard). Her older sister Sarah was baptised at St Mary on 11 Sept 1842 and was buried there on 1 sept 1843 at 12 months. Robert and Ann were born Co Fermanagh, Ireland abt 1810.

Robert and Ann are listed in the 1841 census as:

Robert Fraser aged 30, Labourer, born Ireland
Ann Fraser aged 25, born Ireland
William F aged 12, born Ireland
Jason F aged 8 born Ireland
Robert F aged 5 born Lancashire
James F aged 3 born lancashire
George F aged 1 born Lancashire

Their residence is Gerard's Bridge, Windle.

They again appear in the 1851 census as:

Robert Fraser aged 41, Labourer, born Ireland
Ann Fraser aged 43, born Ireland
William F aged 22, bricklayer,born Ireland
Joseph F aged 20, plumber, born ireland
Jason F aged 17, labourer, born Ireland
Robert F aged 15 born Preston, Lancashire
James F aged 12 born Windle, Lancashire
George F aged 10 born Windle,Lancashire
Sarah A F aged 6born Windle, Lancashire
also listed Susan Trainer aged 15,servant b Ireland and James Donnelly aged 22 labourer, b Ireland and George Fraser, Visitor aged 28, labourer b Ireland.

Again the residence is Gerard's Bridge

Most of the family came to Aust as Unassisted immigrants in 1859. I know for certain that Robert & Ann & children Jason, George, John born abt 1852 and Sarah came to Aust. Not sure about William, Joseph Robert or James.

I am interested in any information about the Gerard's Bridge area; what work they are likely to have been undertaking; any knowledge or connection with the sons who may have married and stayed in Lancashire or contact with anyone else who may be researching this family.

Any comments welcomed. With thanks, anniebelle.

Oops! I think I may have posted in wrong section but cannot see how to transfer. Can someone help? Anniebelle.
