O'Neil Family 1830 -1840Trying to find marriage

The census gives Henry (senior) wife's name as Jane, but I do not as yet know her maiden name. However it does say she was born in Dunfries.
Does anyboby know of a marriage at Precott or Farnworth which fits this description.
It may be that the marriage took place in Manchester or even Dumfries so I am also actively looking in those areas as well.
Thanks Dave

No sign of a marriage in either Prescot or Farnworth, however I did find this which may help.
A Henry O'Neill was registered 1839 in Oldham - mother's maiden name is Riley.

I have checked this against the 1841/51/61 census and it is a different O'Neil family.
My Henry O'Neil (senior) definitely was from Prescott. His parents were William O'Neill and Charlotte Lyon who were married at Farnworth in January 1814. Charlotte was baptised at Prescott 13 Jul 1794 mothers name Margery Lyon (looks like Charlotte was illegitimate).
I cannot identify Williams’s birth or parents from the records on Lancashire OPC. I might come back to you later on this one, but at present I am trying to pin down this marriage. Henry O'Neil had a big family so I will send off for one of the younger children’s birth certificates, this should give me Jane’s maiden name.
Thanks Dave

Have found William and Charlottes marriage and her baptism, mother margery Lyon,
Also found Henry born 1816 in prescot, and at least two of his siblings,John baptised dec 1814 at St Mary Prescot and Edward April 1821 same place.
Have not been able to find a marriage for Henry to Jane anywhere, nor can I find them on early census, where did you get the spouse name from? are you sure this is right, sometimes Anne can be mistaken for Jane in the old handwriting, seems very strange there is nothing to be found, unless they are an unusual religion, havnt come across this before. It could be the name though I have tried various spellings.
PS just found a John Oneil b1814 Prescot on the 1841 census with wife Margaret and children John, Joseph, Eliz, Mary, Her maiden name could have been Finlow or Fenlam, they live at ?May house Yard near Snig lane Prescot.

I got Jane as being Henry’s wife's name from the 1851 & 61 censuses. 1851 gives her place of birth as Scotland, 1861 is more precise and says Dumfries.
I have had a message giving a possible marriage of Henry O'Neil to Jane Handley at St Mary's Parish Church Eccles in 1837. I have sent of for a birth certificate to see is this confirms Jane Handley as being Mrs O'Neil.

The choices for spouse are Ellen Hesketh or Jane Handley, this is the only marriage that comes up on free bmd that includes a jane but as I couldnt locate them on Censuses, but could find a Henry and Ellen I disregarded it as the one. Most of the births for Henry O Neil jnr come up for Manchester, one is at Salford in 1837 GRO code (20590).
Found a Margery Lyon baptised 1773 St Helens father Henry on familysearch.
Good luck then.

William and Charlotte are my 3x gt grandparents through their 1821 son Edward and his wife Anne Elizabeth nee Edwards
I've found out quite a bit also about "your" Henry and his wife Jane nee Handley and subsequent generations of their family
I have Willam's death details plus age at death and even an army record also Charlottes 2nd marriage but William's parents are still a bit unclear.
Maybe together we can crack the mystery
Looking forward to sharing information
best wishes Alison in Nelson NZ
