Thanks for the stories warringtonsaint, the stone tape theory seems to be the one the scientists favour because it fits in with their logical way of thinking, oxides in tapes oxides in stones. If you are interested in ghost stories have a look at ghostwatching channel on you tube,it has dozens of videos some you might have seen on TV years ago.

WS - I'd take all that to mean that you are a "sensitive". If there are these impressions left behind in buildings, you are one of the rare ones who can read them.

One of my mates who had a ghostly experience was the kind of guy who you would not have a conversation with about ghosts, his only interests were bikes, birds, booze and brawling. He lived with his grandparents, one night he said to me,john do you believe in ghosts,i told him that i knew a few stories and left it at that.He then started to tell me what had happened a few days before,he said that he woke up about two in the morning and he could make out a figure stood at the side of the bed and it was leaning over him, still half asleep and thinking that it was his girlfriend he said that as he sat up and his face was a couple of inches away from the face of the figure,it's then that he realised it was not his girlfriend. The following morning he told his nan what had happened, his nan then told him that it was her mother and that she talked with her on a regular basis and that night she said that she was going to take a look at her grandson.

That was great reading WS,my youngest son had a similar experience in a detached house in Halsall,he was there for a year in 2010,not owning it just renting it.The first week he was in it his kettle, toaster, and DVD player all brand new just stopped working. Then he kept feeling cold spots, then one night he was coming out of the bathroom and saw the vision of a girl in old fashion clothes as he put it,she just glided along into the smaller bedroom when he went to investigate there was no one there.

Glad you enjoyed them.

Nanny O - I am able to pick up vibes pretty quickly when I go into a new building I haven't been in before, like whether it's a "happy" place, or not so good.

john b - thanks for the pointer to the ghost channel on You Tube too.
