Writing as a past Secretary of what was the Southern Amateur RL, I can say that there's quite a bit more than ever gets reported.
My better half was Head of a couple of secondary school in London and Hertfordshire. Two of her schools had dyed-in-the-wool RU types in charge of sport. But both (with no intervention from me) organised RL for games lessons. They reckoned, without RU's loose-rucks, RL was safer espec for the boys who weren't so good at sport.

Last season I was amazed to see on TV a Rugby League Challenge Cup round between St Mary's College Twickenham and Loughborough College. Both are PE Colleges and by having RL in these Colleges PE teachers will go into schools ready to teach the game wherever they are in the country.
I know these "Colleges" are now Univesities now, they were not when I attended them.
Many of the Universities play RL so the game should be spreading, if only at schools and amateur levels.

The game continues to spread PRV. In fact it needs to spread to create a big enough gene pool of talented players to produce a national side capable of beating Australia
