Barry Dennett ,acca ''the buffer'' .Used to work with Barry at Fiddlers Ferry he was a fitter on D shift,I was a fitter on C shift.He used to play for Prescot Celtic with me brother in Law Dave Allanson.Last I knew he had the Engine,but that was donkeys ago.
I used to watch them alot,It was ran by Tony Woods.They all played for the Eagle in Page Moss on a Sunday too.

This brought back memories. Remember High Lewis camping very well, bought a bright orange frame tent from them at their Rainford display about 1977/78 and used to get all my camping equipment from them. If I remember correctly after this area was demolished for the new precinct they relocated to Widnes near the roundabout at the bottom of Lower House Lane and Moor lane south. Not sure if it still there as I tend to drive up the new bypass when going back to Prescot these days, rather than through Widnes. I may go this way next time.

Always remember the staff in there were really friendly and helpful.

Hi Denis.I agree they were great.They were the only shop to stock Blacks gear.I had a brilliant high pack rucksak and sleeping back that I bought there.I gave them away when I went to NZ in 1974.

Hi GG just reading the Prescot chat, you mention Dave Allanson,is that the same Dave who as a brothers Andy, and George, and sister Joan??? they come from Saunders Ave, if so it's a small world because they are my wife's cousins, hope you got the e-mail with the picture of Jonah and myself.Mal.
