This particular forum isn't allowing you to attach photographs. You could upload them to the site's Photobucket account, and post a link to here or wherever you like. To do that, you'd need your own Photobucket account, but it's free and quite simple to set up. Photobucket is the best way to show photographs on Connect, because it uses Photobucket's server resources rather than Connect's. You'll find a link to upload in St. Helens Photographs Forum, or PM me for clarification.

Hi Sharon, Posted Image to Connect. Even though I see you have been a Member for a while.
It's great to see all your posts.
I trained as a Nurse at the Prov. Worked at St. Helens Geriatric Unit as part of my training.
I think my Dad was in Rennie, when he had his Cataracts done?
Then he died in St. Helens Hospital in 1996, not sure of the name of the ward he was in then,
but I remember it was not far from the Cafeteria at the time. Do you remember the name?
Me being a Nurse, I found the Nurses and Doctors were wonderful. Great Hospital.

Jimmy, Sorry to hear about your Mum.

Throughout the 50's and 60's, my grandparents were both in and out of St.Helens hospital on many occasions and always received excellent care/attention from all the Nursing Staff.

I can remember there being a rule about no children under the age of 14 allowed to visit in the Wards, but I was much younger and they always let me in because the one doing the visiting had nobody to leave me with.

My dad died in St.H in 1982 and again, he had marvellous care from the staff.

Not sure of the name of the one where my dad passed away - it was on the ground floor, in the newer wing to the left of the main building.
