Walter Delves ended his playing days at Barrow in 1958 to 1962 from where he emigrated to New Zealand where he played the best rugby of his career for Wainuiomata and Randwick before a rep selection for Wellington.
During his time at Barrow, he became Mine Host at a town centre pub The Barrow Arms. It is believed that he still lives in New Zealand
