The Reporter Friday 29th May 1931 MR T HOLDEN The funeral of Mr Thomas Holden (65) of 101 Ashcroft Street took place a St Helens Cemetery last Saturday the Rev T Mason officiating. The mourners were : Mr John Holden, Mr E Holden, Mr & Mrs George Holden, Mr & Mrs McLoughtey, Mr & Mrs T Holden, Mr & Mrs Lacey, Mr & Mrs Wm Holden, Winifred & Elsie McLoughtey, Miss Grundy, Mr Wm McLoughtey, Miss E Holden, Mr J Lacey, Miss D Lacey, Mrs Jas Holden, Mr & Mrs E Partington, Mr Jas Rigby, Mr John Jump, Mr Jos Burrows, Mr Jas Meadowfall, Mr Sam Meadowfall, Mr R Davies, Mr J Cotham, Mr J Jenkins, Bugler J Wintermorgan. The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr A.E Birchall, Colwey Hill Lane Note - The Miss E Holden my mum also the Winifred Mc Loughtey should be Mc Cloughlin she is nee Holden

The Reporter Friday 13th March 1931 MR F HOLDEN The death occurred at his residence, 71 Lowe Street on Sunday, f Mrs Frederick Holden aged seventy two. Deceased was employed at Messer’s Greenall, Whitley and Co Ltd for over forty years until his retirement about seven years ago. The funeral took place at St Helens Cemetery on Wednesday the service being conducted by the Rev T Mason. The mourners were : Mrs Mullen, Mrs W Kershaw (sisters) Mrs Maguire, Mrs Turner, Ms Knight, Mr Alfred Newcombe, Miss Cissy Mullen, Mr Walter Kershaw, Mrs W Fraser, Mrs W Kershaw, Miss Foster, Nurse Foster, Mr Knight, Mr J Short, Mr Knight, Mr J Gallagher jun, Mr Eric Fraser, Mr W Fraser, Mrs Taylor, Mrs Pickett. Numerous wreaths were received including one from the building department of Messer’s Greenall, Whitley and Co Ltd. The funeral arrangements were in the hands of Messer’s J.G Wilson, Bridge Street.

The Rev Fr Riley S.J said requiem mass and the Rev Fr De Cairns officiated at the graveside at the recent funeral at the Borough Cemetry of Mrs Alice Holden (84) 37 Oxford Street.
The mouners were : Mr John Holden (son) Austin, Kerry And Ince and Miss S Holden (daughters) Messrs T Bridge, J Cauldwell, G Austin, P Kerry and S Ince, Eric Bridge, Norman Austin, Gordon Kerry, Leslie and Derek Ince.

Mrs E Mellors (51) 100 Baxters Lane, Sutton died recently. The casket was received unto St Anne’s Church by the Rev Fr Pitts and Dunstan, who said mass ?? Departed the following morning said by the Rev FR Amslem. The interment service which followed at St Helens Cemetry was performed by the Rev Fr Pitts and Rev Father Dunstan (deceased nephew)
