Well there you go. You've had your own experiences which influence your opinions and that's the way it goes. That one on the page was about 17 weeks. I actually saw him (you could just make out that it was a 'he' and the doctor later confirmed that). It had a profound effect on my world view and a real effect on how the future would play out. The third party (in answer to your other question) would be the potential person. I'll not go on about it because it's a bit morbid, but you should have some idea why I might differ in outlook.

Been there, too, Dave - and it hit me like a nuclear bomb (although it was it quite early onin the pregnancy)

Also sired an aborted one about 15 years ago (I was happy with the decision at the time, btw)

you know when The Sun had a headline saying boy george had a week to live (dont know date unfortunately) well that day i reckon i got a girl pregnant cos 2 years later i saw the kid in passing and from then on I believed it to be mine. so i planned on finding out the date of that paper and loking for kids born 9 months later

Lets face it Britain is teeming with dirty bitches flashing their gash at every opportunity,

Will you please pass the details of exactly where these women are to Tony?

I always thought the acceptable catholic method of contraception was to bum the alter boys instead.
Is it ok to use the back door if your a catholic?

I think the Catholics believe shagging should only be performed for reasons of procreation. The Catholic Church, never an institution to shy away from being an authoritarian bully, very possibly wanted the obedient little rednecks to breed like rabbits to create more Catholics to serve the life of splendour that the Catholic leaders sorted for themselves. As far as I know, there's nothing specific in the Bible about ny sort of contraception, other than some ambiguous allegory about not spilling seed.

In fact, why do each of the main monotheistic religions frown on those activites that are fun and enjoyable?

Excuse me you two smart alecs, contraception does not equal abortion nor vice versa. However you took your usual line (which you never fail to do at any opportunity) of ridiculing, denigrating or generally slagging off anyone who does not agree with your atheistic philosophy.

I note that all the people who have contributed to this debate WERE NOT ABORTED.

Does this make it biased towards the none aborted, as the aborted cannot put their case?

This is evidently an old topic but non the less interesting. I would be uncertain how to vote because although i believe i adhere to christian views im unsure i can call myself a christian. I remember having a discussion once with a really nice bloke who claimed to be christian however would not accept that i could be considered one because i did not attend church- a basic consideration that i could never overcome with him. With respect to the question, it is extremely difficult. Our generation come to the get out conclusion that ultimatley it was the womans choice, however i think it is a decision that can only be taken in the most extreme circumstances, ie babies or mothers health/wealthfare. Pete made a comment early on in the topic which i tend to believe also in that for each life a soul awaits, whether it is an upward climb to better oneself each time is another strange belief i ponder-- there has to be a reward for those who warrant one, each journey must reach a destination.

Going off the topic title " Why do Christians oppose abortion? "

You don`t have to be Christian to oppose abortion!

I have no affinity to any religion but I oppose abortion...

That's an interesting point Dickie about what is the definition of a christian. Is it "wherever people gather in my name"? In which case you would have to 'gather' with some of like minded people. I wonder if the internet is 'gathering'?
