This might be asking a lot but does anybody remember a sweet shop owned by a Alice Rogerson in the 30's on Warrington Road we think it was near the Nags Head and a steel company called Todd Bros.

i remember an old lady,serving in the shop,then a younger one, her daughter?my father in law,in later years,went there to buy birds,he always delt with a big fellow,i dont know iff it was the same family,?but they were nice people!

There was a paper/sweet shop next to the Nags Head.

kendy there was two ,old and new warrington rd what was down the old one i cant remember,its been sealed off for years.

duttons had a place, tompa metals.there was a butchers place,caldo garage,above tompa metals.a firm that made artificial flowers.owned by john moors, of pools fame,and his wife,i think his wife had soul control of it,cause it was called "cleggs"her family name.
