Should've posted this in the mane forum  Seriously, though, I have no recollection of it, but I'm surprised some of our cobwebby froth-blowers didn't add their twopennorth. What I would like to know is - why is Elephant Lane so called? And why is Thatto Heath so called?

I have been told that it was called Elephant Lane because it is a trunk road.

Only just joined site so thats why reply is months late - yes I remember a lion being found but I think it was the early 80's because I used to live right near it. I think it even made a small clipping in the daily mirror!
