eddunc i see that you reside in green leach when i was at school and in st davids scouts some of my friends came from round there.the wiiliams twins,neville bowden, ken chisnall. peter claywoth. frank wilding.any of the names ring a bell.?

The only two of those with whom I am not familiar are Ken Chisnall and Peter Clayworth although I did go to school with a Rhoda Clayworth (see my Windle school topic)

neville bowden lived in green leach ave.no16.williams family no.14. ken chisnall lived no.15. langdale grove now lives in haydock.

Spot on with Neville Bowden and Williams twins Brunyed. Frank Wilding lived in Newlands Rd. had a brother David I think.

What's the story behind the house on Green Leach Lane (opposite the Grasmere Ave junction) that's been boarded up for ages?

couple bought it, split up, she wanted her share he said let it rot ouncil said clean it up else we'll take it off you he's strted cleaning it up

Eddie, my missus moved to Langdale Grove as a teenager. At the time, she had her address as Haresfinch. Now, she reckons she came from Green Leach, and we have friendly arguments about it, as she feels Green Leach is posher. Can you tell me, is Langdale Grove in Green Leach or Haresfinch?

Post wise Haresfinch. I was brought up in Litherland Cresc. and that was Haresfinch as well.

My dad had an Aunt and Uncle Named Esmond. Their daughters were school teachers. They lived near the Catholic Church in Hurstfinch. I am talking about the 1940's. Did you know them by any chance.

4 years after me. I left St. Helens in 1955. I still visit now and again to see the distruction of all the places where as a boy I spent many happy hours.

after washway lane the area becomes green leach right up to the east lancs,therefofe langdale grove is in green leach , put your mortgage on it.

eddunc do you remember david Mcale (?) not sure of the spelling,alan morley in our class at higher grade ken large also in the same class these were boys from that area.david went to cowley but was in st davids scouts with me
