Has anybody heard of a George Highcock who played as a forward for St Helens Recs in the 1930's. I have just found an article in the newspapers in the library today about an uncle of mine who commited suicide by hanging and apparently George and another man John Day from Silkstone Street cut him down. The incident happened in Gladstone street in 1934.
