The poem would've been Our Albert by Stanley Holloway (the stick with the horses head handle)

Yeah I know John quite well I met him in O'neill's sometime last year. They both used to knock around town in the 70's

Funnily enough I never really did. I was threatened by someone when I was about 15, so I steered clear of town just in case. When I was old enough to drink I stayed local, but when ever I went to a night club, out of town, with mates I was the one who was always refused entry.I tell you the story of Blighty's Farnworth sometime. Also I now chat to the lad that threatened me on Facebook now, wierd isn't it

Tribute to MICKEY MYERS;;

He taught English at Grange Park school after the war, His methods were very strict, possible had to be as most

dads where in the forces and discipline had been a little lax over the years.

Use to run with us on the rugby field and didn't mind being tackled as he taught us the game.

He took us on field trips Chester etc/.The journey down Lea Green coal mine was one I shall never forget.

His discipline certainly didn't do us any harm and his visions opened the door to the world and certainly put us

good stead for the years ahead.

One of the girls in my class at Cowley (62-67) had been to Parish Church Juniors - Susan de Middelaer (sp?). I remember her as being one of the really 'nice', quiet ones of the class - never the centre of any problems/squabbles/pettyness. Certain she had a younger brother and sister who were still at the school after she left.
