A new chippy just opened in Cambridge Road
that is also a take out ,eat in,the fish are big enough to wrestle,
wouldnt take them on though you might get battered,
chippy fish are quite expensive now you can get a gold fish, for the same price,,

I remember the chippy on the corner of Lewis and Napier, street and I have to agree that they did a good split and the fish were lovely, however I also remember one opposite the Kings Head Pub in Kirkland street, being round the corner from us frequent visits were made loved their chips fish split and scraps, also their meat puddings. The other two I remember were one in wilson street and the other on the corner of New cross street. The bears paw was better than school dinners and Blaylocks also across the road from the Bears Paw. I have to say however that the blue ribbon goes to Dickie Glovers chips fish split pudding and a warm fire after a shopping trip..or later a trip to the pics and then a Dickie Glovers suppers could not be beat. Good thread thanks for the memories.
