Not been here for a while so hello again everyone! Loving that site of yours Geoff - well done
  2. St Marys burials - 1900 & later

Found this the other night, I'm sure you'll know about it already..... http://www.old-merseytimes.co.uk/StMarysPres.html
  3. St Marys burials - 1900 & later

Cheers Steve Incidentally, if you need a hand transcribing the scans, let me know
  4. St Marys burials - 1900 & later

Ha ha sorry Steve - was in work when I posted the enquiry. Looking for the burial of a Jane Wilcock in 1943 in the Prescot area. Cheers all
  5. I can't for the life of me find anything online relating to burials later than 1900. Does anyone know where I'm going wrong? I know you're out there, and I know you know but I wanna know too!!
  6. Name this Bridge

Google search reveals that a wastle is "a Northern term for a twig or withy". Anyone know what a withy is? Google search reveals that a wastle is "a Northern term for a twig or withy". Anyone know what a withy is? OK.... A tough flexible branch of an osier or other willow, used for tying, binding, or basketry ? ?
  7. Anyone familiar with the surname Rodger?

I thought that if we were able to provide the parents names it might increase the chances of finding relatives - I only searched on Prescot then Lancs
  8. Anyone familiar with the surname Rodger?

Sorry! Had a quick search on ancestry but couldn't find anything and can't find the parents marriage on freebmd

  10. Found these in an old box....

Thanks for the comment Prescotboy, like it says they were found accidentally in an old box. Caption on back of the Lucas photo reads "James Lucas St Helens Road 1910. This is the son of Joseph Lucas born 1848 and a wheel cutter for Prescot Watch Factory"
  11. Found these in an old box....

I thought those links would take you to the photobucket page where the pictures are installed, because most of them had captions on them, taken from the backs of each photo!! The caption on the garage is as follows: "Warrington Road next to Parish Rooms. Prescot Motor Company was also owned by E Clegg. run by sons Norman & Stanley. Early 1920s" Glad you all liked them
  12. Found these in an old box....

Just found some more! If the picture contains faces to be recognized, then I have scanned at 1200 dpi otherwise they're 600dpi. I haven't tried adjusting contrast etc. just in case I mess up any editing you may want to do yourself. Three surnames are mentioned in the captions to the pictures - Seddon, Lucas & Clegg - for the genealogists among us! Enjoy I've put captions to the photos today, and one of them is J Edwards shop, which I didn't realise!
  13. Huyton Burial Records

How about these Ste - http://www.old-merseytimes.co.uk/HuytonMI.html Some fall inside the dates you mention, but I'm sure you've probably looked at this page already. Any luck on familysearch? Will keep looking for you
  14. Printing your tree

Can anyone recommend software for printing out your tree? A few years ago I printed a tree out on about 30 sheets of A4 paper then taped them all together to make a diagram the size of a chimney breast! Can't remember which program it was though.....

Daresay these are already available somewhere, but thought they may be of interest. Happy New Year all
