I would like to inform you all that Richard Waring will be in the Town Hall on Saturday and Sunday as part of the Heritage Weekend.
Richard is to be the lead researcher on a book that will be written about The St Helens Pals. If you think that your family may have been part of the Pals in The Great War he would like to meet with you.
This will be an ongoing project for the next two years. All family stories and any supporting evidence, letters or pictures will be happily discussed.
The project is to be undertaken through the St Helens Townships Family History Society. Everyone is welcome to contribute and our aim is to produce a book which is factual as well as informative. In our research in preparation for this project it has been found that a good deal of what was written about St Helens Pals was not always correct .
Stephen Nulty has agreed to work with us during this project and we are very pleased to have his support.
At this stage any person who thinks that they may have a story relating to the St Helens Pals is asked to talk to Richard. We will be pleased to see you in the Town Hall over this week-end and for those of you far away will use this forum to connect with you over the period of the project.
