Fixed using youtube2 - but I was surprised that it worked at all with the full URL between youtube tags.

Sorted. Those naughty IPB people had made the youtube tag into an alias of the media tag. We don't use the full URL when using those youtube tags (youtube or youtube2) - just the string after the = (equals sign). It could have been left, but a lot of the older posted videos would no longer work if it was.
The advantage that the old tags (youtube or youtube2) have over media is that they give the option to go into full screen mode.
